Kabetogama-Namakan-Ash River Fishing Report 2/27/17

Well folks the hard water season for most gamefish has closed on Kabetogama. Perch, Crappie and Rough Fish season remains open.

Kab has and is still enjoying a good perch bite, plus tullibee and whitefish have been active.

The ice road on Kabetogama remains open and provides good access for anglers between the Kab and Ash River Visitor Centers.

Namakan, a Canadian Border lake, remains open to the seasons that are closed on Kabetogama(Northern and Walleye) through April 14th.

It sure would be nice and make sense to have Kab fall under border water regulations, for continuity and law enforcement.

That’s a complaint from many visitors.

Not much crappie bite to date, but should kick in soon, as the days get longer and water temp rises.

Snowmobile trail across Kab has been groomed, not a lot of snow, but ride able. Land trails are ride able, but need snow to soften them up.

Still lots of time to fish on the hard surface.

Keep those ice fishing rods handy for your next visit,
